Maya Jama took to Instagram just hours before the long-awaited Love Island reunion to share that she has been battling ill health after waking up with a temperature and severely swollen glands
Love Island host Maya Jama has sparked concern among avid fans of the ITV2 dating show after posting a health update on social media just hours before the 2023 summer reunion is set to kick off with the finalists of this season.
The popular TV star, 28, took to her Instagram stories on Sunday to share that she has been feeling unwell, having woken up with swollen glands and a temperature on one of the most important nights of her career to date, as the entire cast of the summer series of Love Island is set to reunite after Jess Harding and Sammy Root championed the show on Monday night.
Bristolian beauty Maya is set to be at the helm of the reunion alongside former islander turned presenter Indiyah Polack and Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, who have joined Maya each week for Love Island’s spin-off show, Aftersun. However, the Love Island host has cast doubt over whether she will be well enough to front the special reunion tonight, after telling her fans that she felt ‘down’ just hours before the show is set to kick off.
Taking to her stories, Maya posted a picture of herself without makeup and with a sad expression on her face as she told her fans of the ordeal she has been handed ahead of the reunion. “Feeling sorry myself lol. Glands are swollen and I’ve got a temperature… man down,” she penned.
