Lee Ryan blew his fortune on a mansion, supercars and a plane and helicopter and ended up living on the streets but now, with his new job as a decorator, he insists: “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been”
The Lotto Lag, who ended up on the streets after blowing his £6.5million win, is now working as a painter and decorator, the Mirror can reveal today.
Lee Ryan, who in 1995 became the first UK winner to serve jail time, is doing up a posh home in Chiswick, West London. He said it was a labour of love, telling the Mirror: “I’m a spiritual billionaire.”
After winning his £6.5million lottery jackpot in 1995, Lee Ryan bought a mansion with a pool, two Ducati superbikes, a plane, a helicopter and a fleet of fancy cars.
But his life unravelled and by 2010, he was broke, homeless, living on the streets, and calling his lottery win “a curse”. Now 63-year-old Lee is back on his feet, making a living as a decorator, painting posh homes like the one he used to own, and insisting: “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
