Dr Hilary discusses possible Covid wave Dr Hilary Jones has spoken out on how he really feels about his 17-year-age gap with wife Dee Thresher. Good Morning Britain and Lorraine’s resident medic, 70, told the How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams podcast that he manages to “keep up” with a partner almost two decades younger than him because he “pretends” he’s 30-years-old. “I’ve never felt my age actually,” he admitted to Loose Women presenter Kaye and her co-host Karen Mackenzie. “I’ve always thought of myself as the youngest one in the group and because I have five children, they keep me young. You keep fit and when you surround yourself with younger people, you also keep young by [keeping up with] the new technology and everything. “So I’ve never really felt my age and I don’t want to.” Dr Hilary continued: “You see people who act as if they’ve got one foot in the grave already. I never behave like that – it’s far better to do the opposite and pretend you’re 30 when you’re actually 70.” The couple met when they first worked together in 2008 The father-of-five was asked if he felt pressure to keep up with yoga-mad Dee. “I don’t feel any pressure at all,” he insisted. “I’ve always enjoyed exercise and that’s kept me in good shape. “Dee’s a pilates queen. She does four sessions of classes a day and walks the dog and I’m lucky to have a partner that keeps me grounded and keeps me fit.” Speaking of their workouts, he added: “I really enjoy the things we do together so we’ll go walking on the hill… we’re always walking and keeping busy. It’s not a competitive thing at all… we do different types of exercise. I do a little bit of squash and I do the heavy lifting in the garden, and she does the lighter stuff. We have our boundaries. “She’s 17 years younger than me and that’s exactly how it should be. She’s pretty complimentary to me, I hope she means it. She always says I never consider you 70 and I don’t behave like I’m 70. I’m still a bit of a child inside…” In 2016, the star married fitness expert and personal trainer Dee, his third wife. married his first wife, Anne Marie Vives, in 1977 SUBSCRIBE Invalid email We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you.
