Liverpool have admitted that they do not know when the £80 million upgrade of the Anfield Road stand will be finished.
Work on the stand, which began in September 2021, stopped last Thursday when the Buckingham Group, the construction company that is also responsible for the development of Fulham’s Craven Cottage, filed for administration.
Liverpool had initially hoped to have the new stand at Anfield – which will take capacity from 54,000 to 61,000 – ready for the start of the season but in May they had to request playing their first match of the season away from home.
