Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘excited’ and gives transfer update after Lavia bid

Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp is excited about the prospects of new signings (Image: THISISANFIELD/YOUTUBE) Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is excited about the prospect of signing more midfielders this summer. The German admits it is a necessity that additions must be made, with Fabinho set to follow Jordan Henderson out of the exit door. Liverpool have already signed two midfielders this summer. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai arrived from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively. The duo came in to replace the departed James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita. However, further exits mean more signings are needed. Henderson has completed a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq, while Fabinho is set to join Al-Ettihad. Southampton star Romeo Lavia is a top target. The Reds have already seen an offer worth £40m rejected for the teenager but are expected to return with an improved bid. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Klopp confirmed he intends to be busy and is looking forward to welcoming new faces into the club. Timings aren’t what we are used to. “It’s definitely important to strengthen in midfield. We have to do something, that is clear. We are working on solutions. “First people want changes, now everyone is worrying about the changes. We are really optimistic about it. Excited as well.” Lavia has only had one year of top-flight football at Southampton since joining from Manchester City last summer. However, his performances have attracted interest from a host of clubs in England. Milner and Henderson in particular are big departures from Liverpool’s leadership group. However, Klopp is not concerned about new signings replacing them like for like.
