Bryson DeChambeau admitted LIV Golf boss Yasir Al-Rumayyan was looking to move the sport onwards following the impact of Tiger Woods, and did so by forming the breakaway circuit
LIV Golf players have heard nothing on what is to come between the breakaway circuit and the PGA Tour, according to Crushers GC captain Bryson DeChambeau.
DeChambeau became one of the big names to join LIV Golf from the PGA Tour last summer, and has finally capitalised on his move by securing his first victory on the breakaway circuit last weekend. The American did it in style too, shooting an historic final round 58 to collect the LIV Greenbrier crown on Sunday.
Whilst DeChambeau did plenty of good for the LIV setup on the course, with the world of sport fixated on his record-breaking round last weekend, off it the future of the Saudi-backed league remains slightly cloudy.
This comes after their year-long dispute with the PGA Tour came to an end in June, following the Tour’s shock agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF). Details on the proposed merger remain sparse, but the door is seemingly open for LIV players to make a return to the American-based circuit at some point.
