Nintendo's commitment to not launch any new hardware for the rest of the fiscal year means the Switch 2 is widely expected to arrive in 2024, which means an announcement could possibly happen in the coming months. Fortunately for Nintendo, the Switch 2's actual name and design remain a mystery, which means people are free to go to great lengths to create fake designs to pass off as leaks, just like today's example. Recently, an image of the purported Switch 2, complete with an instruction manual and the box it comes in, was shared on Twitter. The source appears to be Twitter user, NintendogsBS, who only signed up to Twitter this month and who also posted a concept trailer demonstrating the console's user interface when putting a new game in. We have to give some props to the amount of effort put into this, with the UI looking far slicker than the current Switch's, almost like it belongs on a high-end mobile phone. The Joy-Cons have also seen a slight redesign and appear to be set inside larger and rounder slots, with gaps that allow them to be moved up and down. However, the design isn't fooling anyone and can be easily disproved if you take a proper look at it. Aside from the fact that Nintendo is unlikely to actually call it the Switch 2, as the box says, both the art and video contain several errors.
