Lab worker Googled porn and serial killers after ‘stabbing girlfriend to death’

Jurors heard that Ross McCullum searched online for details about four serial killers and Googled ‘Who cuts your hair in prison?’ hours after the death of his girlfriend Megan Newborough

A lab worker accused of knifing his girlfriend to death searched for details about notorious killers on the internet before Googling ‘who cuts your hair in prison’ hours after her death, a court has heard.

Ross McCullum has admitted the manslaughter of 23-year-old Megan Newborough, but denies having murderous intent when he strangled her and cut her throat with a knife at his home.

He searched online for pornography and then for information on Levi Bellfield and Harold Shipman after disposing of her body, a jury has heard.

A trial at Leicester Crown Court heard McCullum was found to have also conducted internet searches linked to Soham killer Ian Huntley and Yorkshire ripper Peter Sutcliffe.
