Camilla stunned in an outfit by Mr Roy, with the Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence also in attendance. The event is a favourite with the royals, and the family used a photograph taken at the games last year on one of their Christmas cards. Today, the gathering took place at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park. King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived to cheering crowds before taking their seats in the Royal pavilion. Numerous games were held including racing, throwing, putting, dancing, running and a tug-of-war. Charles was pictured beaming as he handed out a trophy to Scottish strongman Kyle Randall following a closely-contested event. Traditionally, the monarch becomes chief of the gathering, although Charles has not yet been announced as such. It is the first time Charles has attended the Highland Games since the Queen died last year. Late Queen Elizabeth II was a fond lover of the games and very rarely missed the event.
