King Charles ‘earns £1m’ from selling Queen’s horses including her last winner

King Charles III has reportedly sold 14 of his late mother’s horses – including Love Affairs, who won at Goodwood just two days before her passing

King Charles III has reportedly earned over £1m after selling 14 horses, belonging to his late mother, the Queen.

It was reported earlier this month that Charles had inherited a chunk of the 37 horses belonging to the Queen following her death on September 8. The Queen had a lifelong love for horse racing having been given her first pony when she was just four. She became the first reigning monarch to win the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in 2013 with Estimate.

King Charles continued his mother’s tradition of selling horses at the Tattersalls sales in Newmarket this week with as many as 14 going to new owners, reports the Sun.

Among the horses to be sold was Love Affairs, the Queen’s last ever winner at Goodwood just two days before she passed away.
