When asked if Charles should step aside to let Prince William take the throne, 45 per cent said yes, with the majority wanted King Charles to remain in place. In fact, only 5% of those asked said they had no interest in the Coronation when Charles was crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6 2023. Elsewhere, it was good news for Kate Middleton, who scooped the coveted crown of "most popular royal" with 29 per cent of the vote. William came second on 19%, with Harry in third (17 per cent) and Meghan Markle way back in sixth with just 5 per cent of the vote. The survey was carried out on behalf of The Sun on Sunday.
