King Charles’ £45m Scottish bolthole that you can stay in for £140 a night

Dumfries House in Scotland will make an appearance in a special episode of The Repair Shop, with the King taking a broken item from his estate to the workshop to see if it can be fixed

The King is not short of places to rest his head.

There is the sizeable Buckingham Palace – with its 52 royal and guest bedrooms- not to mention Windsor Castle and the estates of Sandringham in Norfolk.

That is not to mention one of his favourite places, the Gloucestershire country getaway mansion of Highgrove, and also his late mother’s revered Balmoral Castle in Scotland, which the Queen is believed to have left to her heir.

King Charles III has inherited his mother and grandmother’s love of Scotland, regularly painting the landscape in the highlands and becoming a frequent kilt wearer when north of the border.
