Sir Keir Starmer slammed the new Prime Minister and told him he was ‘trounced by Truss who got beaten by a lettuce’ in his first PMQs.
The new Prime Minister faced a backlash over his appointment of Suella Braverman, and also hinted that the ban on fracking will remain in place.
The PM was welcomed into the Commons with thanks from the Labour leader Keir Starmer and cheers rung out from the Tory benches.
He was then pressed by Starmer on his decision to appoint Suella Braverman as the Home Secretary.
He said she had accepted it was an ‘error of judgement’ that had cost her job as she was asked to resign by Liz Truss just a week ago.
