Shut the f*** up and line up' Patriots rookies are due to report back from training camp at Foxborough on July 21. However, there are doubts that Boutte may not even be included as part of the roster. A report from Patriots staff writer Evan Lazar explained how Boutte is at risk of being cut before the season even begins. This, the article claimed, was due to there being a number of wide receivers in competition with Boutte. A video has emerged of New England Patriots rookie Kayshon Boutte seemingly being given a dressing down during a training session.
Boutte was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the 187th overall pick back in April. The wide receiver from LSU was expected to be selected higher in the pre-draft rankings, but dropped down to the sixth round.
The 21-year-old from Louisiana was one of 12 picks selected by the Patriots in April. Boutte was joined by cornerback Christian Gonzalez, edge Keion White, safety Marte Mapu, guard Jake Andrews, kicker Chad Ryland, offensive lineman duo Sidy Sow and Antonio Mafi, punter Bryce Baringer, wide receiver Demario Douglas and cornerback duo Ameer Speed and Isaiah Bolden.
