 Kathy Burke had a peak Kathy Burke response to a new poster advertising a Gimme Gimme Gimme movie. The BBC slapstick sitcom aired for three series from 1991 to 2001 following delusional Linda La Hughes (Burke) and her gay flatmate Tom (James Dreyfus) who were both absurdly vulgar. It was one of the boldest (and best) sitcoms of the 90s so naturally there are plenty of us frothing at the mouth for a reboot. One fan in particular went to great lengths to make a Gimme Gimme Gimme poster which, to their credit, looks genuine, showing Linda on a motorcycle with her iconic ginger hair blowing in the wind and the tagline: 'The most beautiful woman in the world is back.' Sadly, we can only dream. Kathy shared the poster on Twitter with some crushing news. 'It's a fabulous mock up but it's fake. 'We have no intention whatsoever of reviving the show in any way shape or form so get the f**k over it, guy and have a lovely day.' Understandably, everyone was gutted. 'Aww I just got excited and disappointed in a split second,' replied one of her followers while others said their Tuesday had been 'ruined'. In 2022, Kathy confirmed she'd retired from acting for good because she became 'bored' with the industry. She has, however, proved herself to be a pretty remarkable documentary-maker with a collection of films on Channel 4 which, if you haven't seen yet, absolutely do and start with Growing Up.
