Pop singer Katharine McPhee unexpectedly cancelled her remaining Asia tour dates as she and her husband David Foster were forced to hurry home to the US after the couple suffered a “horrible tragedy in their family”.
The 39-year-old artist was performing on tour alongside her partner, 16 Grammy award-winning star David, as they shared the disappointing news with their fans on Instagram. The couple, who married back in 2018, took their musical talents international this year with incredible duets performed across Asia. In the announcement, Katherine shared: “It’s with a heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asia run” the singer continued: “David and I have had a horrible horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family.”

The former American Idol singer apologised to her devoted fans expressing how sorry she was that they needed to cut the tour short and that she hopes to “return one day and perform for you all”. The upcoming shows cancelled were at Jakarta’s Sentul International Convention Centre on August 11 and 12. The couple has not yet revealed what the personal tragedy was that caused the cancellation.
