The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has made a surprise visit to Colham Manor Children’s Centre in Hillingdon in West London, where she spoke to parents who have received support for their mental health after having their children
The Princess of Wales proved she’s the perfect professional by carrying on business as usual with a surprise engagement at the same time her father-in-law, King Charles, was pelted with eggs. Kate appeared in high spirits wearing a khaki coat as she visited a children’s centre to learn how the mental health of mothers is being supported.
She met staff, clients and health professionals at Colham Manor Children’s Centre in Hillingdon, west London, in her role as patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA).
During her tour of the centre, Kate heard how the care provided in the London Borough of Hillingdon is targeted to better suit the needs of women and families.
But her visit came at the same time a man was detained by police for allegedly throwing eggs at the King and Queen Consort during an engagement in York. Today is also the day the latest season on The Crown drops on Netflix, which contains several controversial and negative storylines about the royal family.
