Kate Garraway opens up on ’emotional’ move away from GMB

Kate Garraway has uploaded a video to Instagram sharing details of her new project with her 1.1 million fans. The 56-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter and journalist can be seen sitting in a recording booth and speaking directly to the camera where she says: ‘Well, this is a moment! I’m recording the audiobook of The Strength of Love. ‘Hopefully not finding too many mistakes along the way, but I really hope you enjoy it.’ Before getting candid with her fans and saying: ‘It’s been quite challenging for me to write in lots of ways. ‘But I hope there’s something in there to help you deal with all the challenges that you’re facing up to in life.’ Kate posted a video to Instagram revealing she is recording her new audiobook The Strength of Love (Image: Instagram) Kate who looked sensational in an orange leather jacket with a matching orange tee-shirt, then smiles at the camera and says: ‘So shall we get going?’ Before putting her headphones on and teasing fans by saying: ‘And this is the beginning.’ Kate also captioned her post writing: ‘Can’t quite believe it’s only 6 days until I get to share my new book #strengthoflove with you. It’s been emotional writing it , I really hope it helps you with whatever challenges you are going through . #love #lifelessons . “Do let me know what you think and do pre-order if you can ! . @whsmithofficial & @waterstones will have signed copies that you can preorder now. You’re an inspiration xx’ And a third wrote: ‘You’re a total inspiration, I admire you so much, I don’t know where you get your strength from. I’m a similar age to you and have a hard job, wishing you and all your family all the best.’ With a fourth adding: ‘Can’t wait to read your book you are an inspiration to us all XX’ Kate also shared a picture of her book cover with fans (Image: Instagram) The Strength of Love which is set to be released on September 14 is the follow-up to Kate’s 2021 bestseller The Power of Hope. The book focuses on her husband, Derek Draper’s ongoing recovery after from long covid. Kate has said in a previous Instagram post that the book will be a positive read and that it’s been written to help others who are going through similar hardships. Sharing an image of the book cover she wrote: ‘I must admit it has been so tough to write but that’s because I have had to go into some of my darkest thoughts and experiences, but I also wanted it to be a positive read for you too. Before going on to say: ‘I have so much to be thankful for and so many people have shared so much love with me and my family, and I really wanted to share something helpful back. ‘This book is about Derek’s ongoing battle to take back control of his body and mind, the amazing people who have helped us along the way and how love in all its forms can pull you to the brink one moment, and lift you up the next.’ Finishing off her lengthy post by saying: ‘We are all learning how to deal with the vast multitude of changes we have experienced in recent times while trying to navigate through life the best way we can. I know I am far from alone in wrestling with these challenges, I just hope some of the lessons I have learnt will help you in your daily battles too, whatever they are.’
