Just Stop Oil abandon real roads to pose next to stationary Selfridges DeLorean

Just Stop Oil has abandoned actual roads to pose for pictures next to a stationary DeLorean in a Selfridges. According to the protest group, six of the supporters taking part in their  “Dads March” supporters were arrested in the London shop. This morning, nine dads wearing the notable orange vests and carrying placards marched through the store. They were met by security guards who removed the dads from the store. Elsewhere, protesters set out onto the streets of London and disrupted traffic with another slow march, the Metropolitan Police confirmed. At around 11.08 am, section 12 was issued to move protesters out of the middle of the road in Great Smithfield Street. The protesters complied immediately and within a minute the road was cleared.  At around 8.00 am 43 JSO yobs started marching around parts of the capital including the City of London, Lambeth and Westminster and Hyde Park Corner.  The “dads march” follows a “mums march” yesterday through Hamley’s Toy Store.  Among the dads marching was a 54-year-old Gardener from Stroud who claims his great uncle Gilbert Bayes designed the clock at the Selfridges entrance. Adam Beard said: “The famous clock above the entrance to Selfridges depicts mother time. This clock and statue was designed 80 years ago by Gilbert Bayes, my great-great uncle. In 80 years time, if we carry on putting carbon into the atmosphere as we are now, we will likely have seen three degrees of warming, tipping points passed and runaway climate collapse bringing untold misery and death around the planet, as well as the complete breakdown of our society. I wonder what Gilbert would think about the legacy that we’re leaving our grandchildren.” We’ll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.
