Roma have picked up just five Serie A points this season – but Jose Mourinho is determined to prove his doubters wrong and achieve more success in the Italian capital
Jose Mourinho has hit back at his critics by claiming to have received the “biggest and craziest offer” in managerial history.
Mourinho is facing calls to be sacked after Roma’s poor start to the season. The Italian giants have picked up just five points from their first six Serie A games, losing 4-1 at Genoa on Thursday. Roma take on Frosinone at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening.
Yet a defiant Mourinho told reporters he doesn’t “read the papers” or listen to his critics ahead of the Frosinone clash. He’s also revealed his huge offer, which reportedly came from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal – the club Neymar plays for.
Mourinho has achieved success during his two-year spell at Roma – winning the Europa Conference League in his first season and reaching the Europa League final in his second – but his team will need to start picking up points if he’s to stay in charge.
