Jonnie Irwin has shared his latest DIY project with fans to be a major home makeover as the former A Place in the Sun host continues to work through terminal cancer diagnosis
Jonnie Irwin has been praised by fans after revealing plans his latest project – a home makeover.
The former A Place in the Sun presenter took to Instagram on Wednesday to post an exciting video of a major refurbishment job, much to the delight of his 189k followers. The update comes less than a year after Irwin, 50, announced the devastating news that he had terminal cancer. He has spoken openly about his experience with the illness since, including how it has affected his perspective as a father and husband.
Speaking directly to the camera, Irwin explained that it was ‘Day One’ of the renovation of the ‘front of the house’, before giving viewers a shot of the two-storey residence. “It’s not the prettiest of houses,” he admits, before sharing details of his vision for its future.
“The plan is to put some different design windows in there. Drop that window a bit. And then move the entire…well, rip down that porch, and move the doorway to the centre of the house,” he continues. “Doing so, it brings in a big room in the middle of the house. A walk-through room. An entrance hall.”
