He has spoken openly about his experience with the illness since, including how it has affected his perspective as a father and husband. Speaking directly to the camera, Irwin explained that it was 'Day One' of the renovation of the 'front of the house', before giving viewers a shot of the two-storey residence. "It's not the prettiest of houses," he admits, before sharing details of his vision for its future. "The plan is to put some different design windows in there. Drop that window a bit. And then move the entire...well, rip down that porch, and move the doorway to the centre of the house," he continues. "Doing so, it brings in a big room in the middle of the house. A walk-through room. An entrance hall." Irwin explains that the changes will hopefully be both structurally and cosmetically beneficial, making the house "Better to live in" and "better for the look of the house." "A couple of days late posting this but I promised to be honest with my posts about this renovation - warts n all," Irwin captioned the DIY-themed video.
