The Women’s Super League returns to action on Sunday and Mirror Football caught up with Jill Scott to chat about the upcoming season off the back of the most recent international break
Jill Scott isn’t fussed about signs asking for players’ shirts.
In fact, the former England striker rather enjoys those flimsy entreaties peppering football terraces around the globe. There was one at the Women’s World Cup begging Manchester United ‘s Ella Toone for one of her boots (two would have been greedy) that especially tickled her.
“And Tooney takes [her boot] off and gives it to her and you just see this little girl’s face light up,” Scott tells the Mirror. “I love it when I see that content online.”
It is a mildly controversial statement, not that Scott has ever veered away from honest punditry since retiring from football last year. Besides, having opinions that waver on the scale of relative controversy is all part of the punditry game.
