Between working, hunting for good coffee and running on the beach she's been hanging out with her former teammates – including offering them advice on how to deal with the intensity of World Cup life. She said: 'I went for food with a few of the girls on a day off and obviously they kept in touch when I came out of the jungle, but I felt like for the first time I could speak to them properly about it. "They were asking, 'do you really not get fed for that amount of time?' That's what everybody always asks – they think they feed you on the sly, and I say 'no, it really is difficult'. There's a lot that you can relate to camp life in terms of football, like the friendships that you make. 'Now that I've retired I have good friends who I was in the squad with and I think it's that amount of intense time that you spend together, it's probably the same in the jungle.' But with her wealth of experience playing far from home, an infectious smile and northern sense of humour, Jill has been helping her pals along with a bit of banter. Asked how she's helped them beat the blues, such as missing loved ones or feeling the pressure, Jill said: 'It's just like what I would have done when I was in camp, having little conversations and stuff like that, being a mam of the group.
