Jet2 has opted for continuity in its choice of chairman to succeed Philip Meeson, appointing its senior independent non-executive director.
Robin Terrell, 53, who has been a director at the package travel operator since 2020, has worked across consumer and online retail during his career. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he worked at Amazon, John Lewis Direct and Tesco.
Analysts at Jefferies said Terrell’s background “should provide good scope to ensure continuity and develop the company’s customer-led culture,” and they saw little operational risk to the business from the transition.
Meeson, 75, who announced in July that he was stepping down as executive chairman, founded the group 40 years ago. To allow the company to continue to draw on his experience he is assuming
