But instead the trial heard how he doused her in petrol and set her alight, with the victim's body being discovered by firefighters who tackled the blaze. A post-mortem examination established she died having inhaled products of combustion. The court heard Constantin then used her phone to send a voicemail to her new lover in which he said: "Garbage. I get rid of her. I know where you live. I come to your work. I know you work at TK Maxx. Be patient," reports StokeonTrentLive. The defendant, of Hartshill Road, Stoke, denies both murder and making threats to kill. Opening the case for the prosecution, Philip Bradley KC said: "The case concerns the killing of Valentina Cozma who was 40 years old at the time of her death. For many years she had been in a relationship with this defendant and they have a 16-year-old son. They ultimately separated in January when he moved out of the family home in Campbell Road, Stoke.
