With the “99 Problems” rapper having been linked with an audacious bid to purchase Tottenham, supporters may be wondering how the superstar amassed his sprawling fortune. With worldwide smash hits to his name including “Empire State of Mind” alongside Alicia Keys and “Crazy in Love” with wife Beyonce, the 53-year-old would have become wealthy through his musical talent alone.
However, it is clear that the megastar – real name Shaun Carter – has had no issues branching out into other industries. His current net worth stands at a cool $2.5 billion (£1.9bn), according to Forbes, with investments spanning across 45 companies through his venture capital firm Marcy Venture Partners.
The Brooklyn-born star has made a huge effort to put his money into diversity investments, vowing to assist people from underrepresented backgrounds and 23 of the firms he has invested in fit into this category, as per Crunchbase. The superstar also founded entertainment agency Roc Nation back in 2007, with household names such as J. Cole, Rihanna, DJ Khaled and Megan Thee Stallion on their roster.
