Toco out meeting the public in his costume A Japanese man who spent £12,000 for a costume that makes him look like a dog has ventured out in the outfit for the first time. The man, known only as Toco, has gone viral after living out his dream of becoming an animal. Toco has over 30,000 fans on the video streaming platform YouTube where he has posted his latest content. In a recent video, he has gone outside to demonstrate his dog costume which reportedly cost him two million Yen (£12,480). Sharing the news online, he said: ‘This time, I finally get to fulfil a dream I’ve had since I was a little child: turning into a dog and going for a walk outside!’ Toco also spoke to the Mirror about his incredible transformation and his insecurities about his dream. He said: ‘I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird. My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal.’ Toco’s favourite dog breed is the Collie Toco added: ‘Since childhood, I have had this unspecific fantasy of becoming an animal. I wonder whether it was a desire for transformation.’ In the past, Toco has compared his dream to like wanting to be a dog, wizard, or hero as he thought all three were impossible. Following his successful transformation, his loyal fanbase has praised him for finally succeeding. As well as celebrating his achievement, they have also poured on the reassurance that there is nothing wrong with what he’s doing.
