Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has sent a message to England boss Gareth Southgate over starting Trent Alexander-Arnold at the World Cup in Qatar.
Southgate included 24-year-old right-back Alexander-Arnold as he confirmed his 26-man squad for the tournament on Thursday.
There has been much debate over whether Alexander-Arnold should start for the Three Lions after facing some criticism over his defensive performances this term.
He will likely have to compete with in-form Kieran Trippier for a spot in the starting XI, with Manchester United’s Luke Shaw expected to start at left-back.
