Jalen Hurts position above Josh Allen and Joe Burrow in NFL players vote explained

The NFL’s ‘Top 100 Players of 2023′ list has been shared with some surprise as to why Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finished above Joe Burrow and Josh Allen

The NFL’s ‘Top 100 Players of 2023’ list has been revealed, and there was the usual level of debate about the finishing position, particularly when it came to the quarterbacks.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been ranked ahead of fellow quarterbacks Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow and Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen. The list, voted for by players across the league, is topped by Kansas City Chiefs two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes – however, it is Hurts’ placement at number three that has raised eyebrows.

Hurts had an exceptional breakout season in 2022, leading the Eagles to the best regular season record in the NFL and a Super Bowl appearance. He not only put up impressive individual stats but also showcased his ability to perform under pressure.

With 3,702 passing yards, 760 rushing yards, and a total of 35 touchdowns, Hurts earned his first Pro Bowl selection and finished third in the Offensive Player of the Year voting. In Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs, the 25-year-old displayed his dual-threat ability by throwing for 304 yards and a touchdown, with a completion rate of 71 percent.
