Jack Barnes: Four men charged with unlawful act manslaughter

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Four men will be charged with unlawful act manslaughter over the death of Jack Barnes.

Mr Barnes, who was 29, was restrained by workers on the Manchester tram system in 2016, when he was held face down following an altercation at Manchester Victoria railway station.

The dad, from Hull, died on December 2, 2016, weeks after the incident in Manchester which happened on October 11, 2016.

In March 2021, following an inquest, HM Senior Coroner for Manchester Nigel Meadows ruled the death was an unlawful killing and stated the restraint ‘more than minimally, trivially or negligibly contributed to the cardiac arrest’.
