I’ve grown world’s heaviest cucumber

GARDENER Vince Sjodin is feeling as cool as a cucumber after growing the world’s heaviest at a whopping 30lb.

His 4ft long orange monster smashed the previous record by 7lbs, set by David Thomas in 2015.

It was Vince’s second record-breaking feat as two years ago he grew the world’s heaviest marrow – an 18-stone behemoth.

Vince said his vegetables grow so big because of the fresh air on his allotment in Barry, in the Vale of Glamorgan, as well as the “secret formula” he uses.

He said: “It’s a great achievement. I was chatting to the former world record holder David Thomas this morning and he was amazed.
