Israel’s prime minister was rushed to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell, as the nation bakes amid a 30C heatwave.
Benjamin Netanyahu, 73, was treated at Israel’s Sheba Hospital, near the coastal city of Tel Aviv. Israeli news site Walla said an unnamed official close to Netanyahu said the world leader had fainted at home but was fully conscious at the hospital.
Hospital officials also said Netanyahu was conscious and walking on his own.
A spokesman for his office said he had spent Friday enjoying Israel’s Sea of Galilee at a time of high summer temperatures which have reached 30C.
