Yesterday, thousands of Instagram users had trouble logging into their accounts due to a mysterious outage. Many took to social media to complain that they were locked out of the popular Meta-owned platform with an error message that said their account has been 'suspended for 30 days'. The company has not elaborated on what caused the issue or if bot accounts suspended were restored again. Metro.co.uk has reached out to Meta for comment. If you were one of the many that got locked out of Instagram yesterday, you should be able to access your account now.
On Monday, Instagram said that it had fixed a software bug that prevented thousands of users from accessing the photo-sharing platform for about eight hours and led to complaints of accounts being suspended.
‘We’ve resolved this bug now – it was causing people in different parts of the world to have issues accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change for some in number of followers,’ Meta-owned Instagram said in a tweet.
Several Instagram users had tweeted that they were asked for email IDs and phone numbers to access their suspended accounts.
From over 7,500 reports at 2:09 om on outage-tracking website Downdetector, the number of user reports declined to nearly 500 around 10 pm.
