The property, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, boasts a magnificent roof terrace with views of the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, French newspaper Le Parisien has reported. The “experimental” auction model allows agencies to offer a home for sale online, opening it up to candidates who have visited the property in person beforehand and are therefore considered eligible bidders. This sale strategy, aimed at increasing transparency in the process, was developed by luxury property agency Barnes. As the end of the sale approaches each bid made will automatically extend the process by a further five minutes, with online buyers seeing offers in real-time and bidding in increments of £85,000 at a minimum. This new selling mechanism makes for a fairer process, avoiding the traditional “first come, first served” rule.
