Imperfectly Balanced Diablo 4 bug explained – why it puts Necromancers at a disadvantage

Necromancers are having a tougher time in the current Diablo 4 season than they should be, all thanks to a pesky bug

As if the poorly received balance changes weren’t enough, Activision Blizzard’s constant tweaks has also glitched the game for certain character classes.

The notorious update 1.1.0a continues to have drastic ramifications for all five of Diablo 4’s character classes. That’s despite the team at Activision Blizzard promising further tweaks as recently as last Friday’s 1.1.1 campfire chat livestream, which doesn’t do anything to help players playing the game right now who can’t wait for update 1.1.1 to arrive on Tuesday, August 8. One of the peskiest glitches has been dubbed the Imperfectly Balanced Diablo 4 bug, and it relates to the Necromancer class.

The good news is that the Imperfectly Balanced Diablo 4 bug doesn’t seem to be an intentional change by the studio. If it is, then Necromancer players will forever be at a disadvantage compared to before. It’s only become an issue since Season of the Malignant kicked off less than two weeks ago, and quite rightly players who elect to play as this class are annoyed.

The Imperfectly Balanced Diablo 4 bug, perhaps rather unsurprisingly, relates to a passive ability found within the Necromancer’s skill tree called Imperfectly Balanced. The official description of this skill reads “your Core skills cost 3% more Essence, but deal 5% increased damage”. What this essentially means is that for just a little bit more Essence cost, the damage output of nearly every Necromancer attack can be upped significantly.
