David, 70, met Jackie, 28, on an online dating website while he was travelling in the Philippines, her native country, seven years ago. Quickly hitting it off, the pair went on several dates before David returned home to Oakland, California, US. But not able to get Jackie off his mind, he flew back to the Philippines three months later to ask her out on another date. Speaking on the YouTube channel Love Don't Judge, David said: "We met when I was in the Philippines. I was using a dating site. One day I saw her profile - I practically jumped out of my chair. I was so impressed by what I saw." David sent Jackie a message - and was delighted when she agreed to meet up with him at a Starbucks for coffee. Jackie added: "I did not review his profile. I had no idea what he looked like. [The date] was fun. I could tell that he was a gentleman and was really nice." During his second trip to the Philippines, David surprised Jackie by popping the question. She received her Visa for America about 11 months later - when the couple got to work planning their wedding. "Our wedding was fun. It was the best day of my life," said Jackie. "My parents and my siblings couldn't make it here [America]. My family are very supportive and my friends also. I won't regret marrying Dave because he's a really nice man. He loves me, he respects me, he's the best." While Jackie claims to not be concerned about their age gap, David says he was worried about what others would think to it. He said: "I had concerns but it wasn't from my perspective, it was from Jackie's perspective.
