I’d happily fall victim to Strictly curse, it could be blessing, says Nikita

BBC DJ Nikita Kanda is not worried about the famous “Strictly curse”.

In fact, she says it could be a blessing.

For the new show star has revealed she has been single for seven years, all thanks to her 4.30am alarm calls ahead of her breakfast programme on BBC Radio’s Asian Network.

In her first exclusive interview since she was unveiled as a 2023 Strictly contestant, the 28-year-old presenter said the so-called curse, where coupled-up dance partners find love on the BBC show, is no bad thing.

Asked if it could be a blessing, she said with a laugh: “Hopefully, yeah!”But that’s not in my mindset because I am so focused on enjoying the show and I want to get stuck into it and learn the dances.
