A WOMEN has scooped £300k on the lottery after only popping to her local shop to pick up bread and milk.
Karen Parkin, 51, of Nottingham, who gave up her job as a delivery driver after suffering from arthritis of the spine, said taking home the top prize on a £3 scratchcard will make life “less stressful”.
While standing in the queue at Sonia Stores in Basford, Karen remembered a previous visit where she’d watched a woman win £50,000 on a scratch card.
Inspired by the jackpot, she decided to treat herself to two Cosmic Cash games.
She waited until she got home to scratch the panels off one of the cards and discovered she had won the £300,000 top prize.
