Janna boarded on Thursday, only to be told the next day that the cruise was not able to leave until Sunday due to the damage. Not only that, but the 10-day Alaska cruise had been shortened to seven days and was not visiting all of the same spots. The ship, which was docked in San Franciso had to repair the large hole, leaving passengers to explore the area. She said: "I'm a passenger onboard the damaged Ruby Princess cruise. She added: "No Glacier Bay, no Sitka Alaska, no Juneau Alaska - but we're still going to Ketchikan and Prince Rupert." However, Janna said passengers were given options about their holiday. This included carrying on with the cruise, given a 75 per cent refund and 75 per cent credit on their next cruise. Or, they could cancel their cruise and leave the ship, getting a full refund and 50 per cent towards another cruise. She admitted that if you took the latter, you still got a free day in San Franciso and a free night on the boat. Janna said she wasn't sure what to take - and people on TikTok were divided. The majority of people said she should stay onboard, with one person writing: "If you think it's safe, 100 per cent stay that's some good choices." Another agreed: "Such wonderful choices! I would enjoy the cruise and book another in the future." However, others didn't agree. One said: "Leave, I would go nuts thinking that the ship is not safe."
