Matthew Richardson was speaking to his mum on the Google Pixel 6 when he said it exploded in his hand. He says he couldn’t hear for a day after the noise left him deafened
A man claims his mobile phone exploded while he was making a call, leaving him deaf for 24 hours.
Matthew Richardson had been on the phone to his mum after a night out with his football team when his Google Pixel 6 suddenly blew up in his ear. He says was unable to hear due to the incident on July 1 for a full day.
He fears the damage could have been even worse if he had not put a protective case on his device. The gardener and farm worker, from Marlborough, Wiltshire is now determined to get out of his phone contract.
He said: “My mum was asking if I’d got home and then it just went boom. The bang completely blew the back of the phone out and cracked the front screen so I think the protective casing saved me, because if not for that I could’ve have had glass in my hand.
