A man was left seriously agitated after parents ‘frantically’ asked him to move so they could sit with their daughter – but he was shocked to realise the child was actually a teen
Swapping seats on a plane is a big deal, and if you’re feeling kind enough to do it, then you’ll certainly want to make sure that the swap is fair. When one man and his wife were getting settled in for their 14-hour flight with television and snacks at the ready, they were left deflated when “frantic” parents boarded the plane and asked them could they move so they could sit with their daughter.
Sensing the stress the parents were going through, the pair agreed as they were “clearly panicked”, despite the fact the man said that normally he would’ve “stood his ground”, assuming that their daughter was very young. But they were left shocked and in much less desirable seats.
The man took to Reddit’s ‘Mildly Infuriating’ forum to explain the situation. He wrote: “My wife and I were getting seated on a 14-hour international flight. My wife had the window, and I was next to her in the middle seat. My laptop was loaded up with episodes from the show we were watching, we had our snacks all organised, etc.
“Then two parents arrive, one sitting next to me, the other in the adjacent aisle seat. They are FRANTIC, and beg me if I could move so their daughter can sit next to them. I think I normally would’ve stood my ground, but these people were clearly panicked. There were some airline protests going on at the time, so I figured they were in an unfortunate situation with a little girl.”
