The group made their political views very well known during their time that they were together until 2012. In 1998 they were nominated for best single at the Brits for their tune Tubthumping. Unfortunate they didn't win. But some fans will remember that drummer Danbert Nobacon threw water over politician John Prescott during the ceremony. Alice left the band in 2004 and is now a successful writer - something that she always wanted to be. She told the Guardian: "If you're jumping about in your mid-40s, you look f**king stupid'. Alice went on to get an English A level and write a number of short stories. After starting an MA in screenwriting she decided to quit and later enrolled on a course at Leeds Playhouse. Her play Foxes screened there in 2006. She's also written the Street, Casualty, Moving On and Accused.){kind=link}
