According to this driver, they live in a city where "parking is few and far between", but they're lucky in that their new semi-detached house comes with two parking spaces. Shortly after they moved in, their neighbour stopped by to introduce himself and asked outright whether he might be allowed to use their extra parking spot full-time, as he currently has to park out on the street. They told their neighbour they'd need a bit of time to think it over, and came back to him with what they felt was a fair proposition that could work well for all involved. Taking to Reddit, the homeowner explained: "Later [we] said sure, we'll draft up a quick parking lease agreement (my wife is a lawyer) and charge him $125 (£95.50) per month. Here, spots easily go for $250 (£191) per month. At my old condo, my friend sold his spot for $150- (£115) per month for someone just to park two days per week from 8 to 6. "He was shocked, couldn't believe it, which were the words he used. He then said things like 'highway robbery' and you don't do that in this neighbourhood'. There are no bylaws against it, I think he meant in this quaint neighbourhood and this isn't a downtown condo. I think a spot is a spot, Obviously, things are weird now."
