Motoring writer Gareth Butterfield’s thirsty BMW is hitting him hard in the pocket – can a £30 treatment save him money?
Have you noticed the cost of fuel is creeping up again? I have. I was foolish enough to buy a six-cylinder BMW before the pandemic. And, as lovely as it is, it’s a bit thirsty.
The cost of fuel is something we could all do with reducing as our bills start to get the better of us, and motoring costs seem to be among the hardest to get a handle on. So I was very keen to hear more about a new Fuel Efficiency Pack offered by car servicing and repair specialists Halfords Autocentre.
For less than half the cost of a tank of fuel, the network of autocentres can treat your car’s fuel system to a complete spring clean as part of its new pack.
Essentially, they offload two full containers of a high-tech flush solution into your engine, one to flush out the engine oil system and another to clean the petrol injection system.
