But one woman was left concerned when her son said he wanted to dress as a 'killer' at age eight. The woman took to Mumsnet to ask for the advice of other parents, and received a mixed response. "He was looking at a Friday 13th costume with a hockey mask. "Am I being unreasonable and a complete spoilsport to not get him this outfit? "His argument was last year he dressed as the Grim Reaper, i.e. the biggest 'killer' of all. He's not wrong, but am I alone in feeling that's different? "I'm going to stick to my guns, but am curious what other people think, and what are their kids dressing as this Halloween?" The post received a mixed response from other parents, with some not seeing the problem with the costume, and others backing the mum. One parent wrote: "Stick to your guns. Tell him it's a wizard, a pumpkin, or nothing." Another suggested: "Just tell him to be the Grim Reaper again if he's the biggest killer of all time."
