A woman has revealed how she made a young child cry by asking her parents to get her out of the plane seat that she had booked and paid for but is now worried she went too far
Travel etiquette is an extremely contentious subject with everyone having a view on what is the right and correct thing to do. Who should get to sit in the seat, what happens when children are involved, and how to handle everything without inciting a fight usually attracts many different points of view.
Now a woman has revealed she made a little girl cry before embarking on a long plane journey of nine hours because she was in her seat, and her dad made her feel guilty about it. The 22-year-old opened up about the experience on social media, asking if she was in the wrong for doing so, and was met with an overwhelming reaction.
Taking to the platform Reddit to ask for advice on the situation, the young woman admitted it the flight was her first ever travelling solo and had been very emotional all day about leaving her family. She wrote: “Leaving my family this time has been hard and I’ve been crying on and off the entire day. I had a window seat booked for my flight and I was looking forward to it.”
She went on: “When I got there, a child was sitting in my seat and her dad in the middle seat. I looked at the dad and pointed at the window seat saying that I think it’s my seat expecting him to move. He looked at me and said she’s a child and pointed at the aisle seat suggesting I take it.”
