Souvenirs are little trinkets that hold big holiday memories for many, so when one plane passenger shoved their bag into the overhead locker and broke one woman’s souvenirs, people were not happy
Souvenirs from a holiday are lovely as you can decorate your home with things that hold memories you’ll never forget. From snow globes that you definitely don’t need but that make you smile, to tea towels adorned with the name of the place you’ve been, there are so many things to choose from in the shops – and before you know it, you’ve spent a small fortune on little decorations.
But how would you feel if your souvenirs were broken on the plane home because somebody had unnecessarily shoved their bag into the overhead locker? You’d probably be gutted, especially if you didn’t know who’d done it.
Someone took to Reddit’s ‘Am I the a**hole’ forum to ask whether they were in the wrong for breaking someone’s holiday souvenirs and not owning up to it, because they’d “jammed” their bag in to the overhead locker. They wrote: “When I was boarding my flight in Orlando the overhead bin in my seating area was full. I have a hard-sided carry-on bag that is the exact size to fit in that space.
“I made some room and jammed in my bag. I heard a crunch but nobody around me said anything. When I went to my connecting flight I heard a lady complaining on the phone to someone about her souvenirs getting broken. Apparently what she does on flights is stuff her bag in the overhead bin closest to the front she can find even if she is sitting at the back of the plane. That way she doesn’t have to carry her carry-on all the way off and off of the plane.”
