NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
BBC boss Tim Davie has confirmed the broadcaster is in contact with the family who claimed Huw Edwards paid a young person for explicit images.
The director-general, 56, told parliament on Wednesday the BBC has been ‘in touch’ with the complainant who claimed Edwards, 61, paid £35,000 for sexual pictures since the allegations were first published in The Sun.
He said at the pre-arranged House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee: ‘Since that weekend we have been in touch with the complainant and we want to be engaged and appropriately listening and understanding their concerns.’
The family of the young person had originally complained to the BBC in May and the corporation said it tried to contact them twice.
