NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
BBC boss Tim Davie has addressed the ‘challenging few days’ leading up to the announcement that Huw Edwards was the presenter who was suspended.
On Wednesday July 12, Edwards’s wife Vicky Flind released a statement on his behalf revealing that he was at the centre of several allegations, the first of which was published in The Sun.
Flind said that her husband was ‘suffering from serious mental health issues’, and ‘is now receiving in-patient hospital care where he’ll stay for the foreseeable future’.
Among the claims, he has been accused of paying a young person, who is now 20, more than £35,000 from when they were the age of 17 for sexually explicit images.
