Hull dog attack: Young boy ‘bitten on head’ after dog ‘escaped from property’

A young boy was rushed to hospital after being attacked by a dog that had reportedly escaped from a nearby property – police have since seized the dog and are investigating

A young boy was reportedly bitten on the head after a dog was said to have escaped from a nearby property.

Police scrambled to a home in Bransholme, in Kingston upon Hull, after reports that around 1pm yesterday, a dog was said to have escaped from a nearby property. Ambulance services also raced to the scene and found a young child who had suffered head and leg injuries.

His injuries aren’t thought to be serious, and HullLive reported that a relative told others on a local news group that he was in a stable condition and had been taken into theatre in hospital. An air ambulance helicopter circled the area before landing close by.

Sergeant Lucie Hunnybun, of Humberside Police, said: “With the co-operation of the animal’s owners, I can confirm we have now seized the dog following the incident. Officers remain the area as we continue to gather information and assist our Dog Legislation Officer in establishing exactly what has happened to ensure we can look to take the most appropriate action.”
